Today in the Garden
February
Signs of spring are everywhere now, as gardens are awakened by lengthening days, rising temperatures and annual rains. Native beauties are green, budded and blooming. Many bulbs planted in the fall are in flower. Fruit trees are beginning to blossom and favorite perennials show new growth. Everything can benefit from light feeding now to encourage growth above and below ground. But February weather is often unpredictable and wet, so stay on guard for more of winter. While waiting for spring to officially arrive, remember the slings and arrows of your romance with gardening will all be worthwhile in the weeks ahead.
