Today in the Garden
October
Change is in the air, and after a long hot summer, gardeners are ready for their busiest time of the year. Everything but tropical and sub-tropical plants goes in the ground now, so it’s an ideal time to refresh ornamental and edible gardens. Plant sales abound making it easy and economical to find what’s needed. Temperatures are dropping and rain is on the horizon, but occasional Santa Anas make water monitoring vital. While planting and pruning, remember gardens are a bountiful source of inexpensive holiday décor.
